In addition to his work as a composer, Michel Lysight has pursued a career as a teacher of contemporary musical languages, which led him to write the 40 Rhythmic Studies for Master 2. In these studies, he uses rhythmic notation without beats, a notation used by many composers such as Olivier Messaiæn. What’s more, each study is based on material that he develops to give each of them a musical structure, making it possible to use this work not only in music education classes, but also in transposition and sight-reading classes.
