New Consonant Music

The three movements of Vitriol (2020) are inspired by the famous alchemical formula “Visitando Interiora Terræ Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem“. The first one, Visitando Interiora Terræ… is based on a very energetic pattern that develops by adding other patterns that gradually complete and transform the polyphonic fabric. The three instruments imitate each other, as if they were exploring a labyrinth plunged in darkness.

The second movement, Rectificando…, is more lyrical, the melodic aspect is omnipresent. It is a moment of meditation on the changes necessary for man to evolve and improve.

The last movement, Invenies Occultum Lapidem…, is very lively, rhythmic and playful, as when the goal of a quest is finally reached.
