Vitriol

The three movements of Vitriol are inspired by the famous alchemical formula “Visitando Interiora Terræ Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem“. The first one, Visitando Interiora Terræ… is based on a very energetic pattern that develops by adding other patterns that gradually complete and transform the polyphonic fabric. The three instruments imitate each other, as if they were exploring a labyrinth plunged in darkness.

The second movement, Rectificando…, is more lyrical, the melodic aspect is omnipresent. It is a moment of meditation on the changes necessary for man to evolve and improve.

The last movement, Invenies Occultum Lapidem…, is very lively, rhythmic and playful, as when the goal of a quest is finally reached.
