Chronographie X (2011) belongs to a series of independent pieces, all based on a minimum unifying material of five notes (C, E, B, G, A), which can of course be transposed. This work has several sections with different atmospheres, the general form being A, B, C, D, E, D’, C’, A’, B’. Michel Lysight uses several processes characteristic of his writing (canons, abrupt modulations, implacable rhythm, preponderance of the melody, Fibonacci series etc.) while paying great attention to the colours offered by such an instrumental combination.
This work appears on a CD Belgian Chamber Music (Marcos Fregnani-Martins, Erez Ofer, Igal Braslavsky, Karolina Maziarz, Rachel Talitman, label Harp&Co 5050-28).
