Tenson (2019) is a work in three movements inspired by a medieval poetic genre from the troubadour tradition, a genre based on dialogue and discussion. Each movement reflects an exchange between the three instruments, sometimes courteous, sometimes more polemical depending on the melodic and/or rhythmic character of the movement.
The world premiere took place in the USA on 26 September 2021, as part of the Sound Waves Music Festival, by the ensemble Plumeria Winds, to whom the piece is dedicated. The same performers played the work four times in Rio de Janeiro as part of a tour of Brazil that took place from November to December 2021.
