Pêndulo

piano

The name, Pêndulo, alludes to the wave of polarizations derived from the construction of several chords and cadences. The musical macroform is a rondo built with a tissue of micropreludes.

Pêndulo (Pendulum) was commissioned by the Brazilian pianist Antonio Eduardo who played these pieces in the premiere performance respectively on August 27, 2001 (Festival Musica Nova de Santos) and on September 1, 2002 (Centro Cultural São Paulo) in São Paulo, Brazil.

Pêndulo starts with the same tones: C,E and E,G# (Ab), now set in a harmonic perspective. The name, Pêndulo, alludes to the wave of polarizations derived from the construction of several chords and cadences. The musical macroform is a rondo built with a tissue of micropreludes.
