Jump

Jump (2019) was commissioned by clarinettist Julien Elleouet and pianist Xavier Locus for their latest show.

During the show, a film was projected showing the clarinettist preparing to parachute, boarding the plane, taking off while playing the clarinet and finally landing. The piece was performed live and illustrates the different moments of the film, the apprehension during the preparations, the take-off, the jump itself and finally the return to terra firma. But Jump is first and foremost a work of chamber music that can be played in recital, independently of the film.
