Meditation

Two instruments, one melodic (a specific version exists for each of them) and one polyphonic (guitar, harpsichord, harp, marimba or piano) dialogue, the piece opening with an unchanging rhythmic cell marked by changes in harmonic colours, while a long, very expressive song unfolds, creating a moment of contemplation outside of time.

This work appears in a cello and guitar version on a CD by the Edenwood Duo (Catherine Struys, guitar and Wouter Vercruysse, cello / label A Croch’Notes Production 004).

A version for bassoon and harp was recorded by  Mavroudes Troullos (bassoon) ans Rachel Talitman (harp) (Harp&Co 2024).
