Adagio molto espressivo

« This work is a version for string orchestra of the “love scene” from my ballet “The Lady of the Lake”, originally composed for full orchestra in 1989. The composition of this piece was done in 1991 while I cruised along the lake of Lucerne.

The landscape of mountains and lake reminded me immediately of the theme for my ballet, and of my original love scene which I had composed a few years before. During the whole trip I was working on a version for string orchestra, which I wrote down some months later. »
