Anthony Girard : Sur les ailes du vent
for flute and guitar
The title, On the Wings of the Wind (Sur les ailes du vent), is an image, according to Meister Eckhart, to describe the abode of the soul. The first movement leads us thru the folds of time, the second evokes the interstellar Thunder, while the third suggests some joyful Presence.
The flute is mainly used for its lyricism, its fluidity and its light ; the guitar sometimes for its sensitive, intimate, moving tremor, sometimes for the paradoxal shining of its full sound vibration.
