Sergio Mascarà was born in Caltanissetta, Italy, in 1965.
His musical studies began under the direction of teacher Lia Lacagnina Migliore and then continued and perfectioned after musician Vincenzo Mannino.
Since 1989, when he got the Diploma in piano, he attended many master classes under famous musician as Piotr Lachert, Constance Channon-Douglass, Aquiles Delle Vigne, Sebastian Korn..., and carried on an intense performance activity both as soloist and in duet, in Italy and abroad.
In 1991 he discovered the New Consonant Music while attending the Biennial Course of Piano Didactic and Pedagogy by Polish musician Piotr Lachert at the prestigious Academy of Music in Pescara (Italy). Since then he is working at promoting the N.C.M. His first CD 'New Consonant Music', was produced by T.G.E. Musical Edition of Lugano/Milano, in 1995. It is the first Italian CD ever entirely dedicated to N.C.M. and it has received great acclaim everywhere.
Furthermore, he is co-author of the book 'Piano-Didactic for Beginners', realised by the Music and Didactic Centre of the Academy of Music in Pescara, with the collaboration of the European Piano Teachers Association and the supervision of the Methodology and Didactic's Faculty of Terza Università di Roma. At present, musician Serge Mascarà is Teacher of Piano in Academy of music of Caltanissetta and on behalf of Curia Vescovile di Caltanissetta he is the Artistic Director of the "Festival della Nuova Musica Sacra"
