RACHMANINOV TRIO

The Rachmaninov Trio was founded in Belgium and is composed of Tamara Ignatieva (violin), Peter Heiremans (cello) en Evgueni Sinaiski (piano). In 1996 Rachmaninov Trio won the First prize in the "Viotti International Chamber Music Competition" in Vercelli (Italy). In 1998 they obtained the 1st prize as well as the "Special Barenreiter Prize" at the "International Charles Hennen Competition" in Holland and the "special prize of the jury"of the "International Music Tournament" in Rome.

Since then, the group has performed regularly in many major European cities in Belgium, Holland, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland and Poland, appearing in many prestigious venues like "Concertgebouw" in Amsterdam, "Palaix des Beaux Arts, "Aula" in Zurich, "Herculuszaal" in München...

They made radio recordings for the VRT (Belgium), AVRO (Holland) RAI (Italy), the Polish Radio and are presently recording their second CD.

The trio's repertoire consists out of more than 60 trios and represents the complete spectrum of the piano trio literature beginning from the Viennese classics, through romantics to the twentieth century, but also reaches far beyond the limits of the conventional repertoire. It is rich in less known masterpieces like: Aljabjev, Rubinstein, Martin, Castelnuovo Tedesco or Villa Lobos; post-soviet composers like Korndorf, Pärt, Schnitke, Silvestrov, Tarnopolsky, Ustvolskaya, Vasks... and Belgian composers like B. Buckinx, K. Oelbrandt N. Beulterijs, F. Celis, M. Poot, O. Van Geert...
