Mikhaïl Bezverkhny

Mikhaïl Bezverkhny was born the 27 July 1947 in Leningrad where he began violin studies at the age of five. He followed these studies till 1965 in the Special Music School of Leningrad and then in the Music Conservatory of Moscow that he quit in 1971.

He was laureate of international contests of Poznan, Munich, Montréal, Belgrad, Budapest and First Prize of the International Contest Queen Elisabeth of Belgium 1976.

He has recorded more than 30 discs (Melodia, Deutsche Gramophon...). Mikhaïl Bezverkhny is not only violonist but also altist, director and actor. But also composer of the Suite Gambrinus which won the First Prize of Music at the International Film Festival of Valence in 1992.
