Evgeni Zemtsov is a Russian composer originally from Rasskasowo. He graduated from the Tschaikovski Conservatory, where is studied with D. Kabalewski and A. Pirumov. He was named Composer Emeritus of Russia and became a member of the Union of Composers of the Soviet Union. He was named professor of the Gnesin Institute of Moscow.
Currently he lives in Hamburg, Germany and is a member of the Deutsche Componisten Verband. Among his compositions, many of wich have been published in the former Soviet Union, are two symphonies, an oratorio, an opera, two sonatas for violin and piano, vocal and chamber music.
Lyrical piece of declamatory construction, melancholical in character. Composed in three movements with a developed core of dramatical character which leads to an expressive climax.
