Piotr Lachert, born in Poland, now makes his home in Pescara, Italy.
Originally a concert pianist, he has established a reputation as one of
Europe's foremost postmodern composers. In 1973, while living in Brussels, he
founded TEMV! (Théâtre Européen de Musique Vivante!), which he directed for
twenty years. In 1982-84 he developed a computer assisted composition system
called "Letter Music".
Piotr Lachert's compositions include music theatre pieces, chamber music, 20 sonatas, concertos for violin, piano, opera "Aroma
Tre", several volumes of pedagogical piano music and others. His music has
been published by Barrenreiter, Jobert, Alain Van Kerckhoven Editeur and other established firms, and is performed throughout Europe and Japan. He is one of the historic founders of the New Consonant Music.
Two piano pieces - one cheerful (Rzewski's Spiel - Lachert), the other contemplative (Long Haired Lady - Lawalrée)- which, irrespective of their "exotic" form, have captured the public's enthusiasm. A memorable experience for the performer! As the music is printed on rigid loose-leaf pages, the three parts can be easily handled on the music stand.
Three piano pieces : Mobile (Devreese), 19e Sonata (Lachert) and Ripple Marks (Lysight). As the music is printed on rigid loose-leaf pages, the three parts can be easily handled on the music stand.

A suite of twelve dances (rock, bossa-nova, tango...) composed in a brilliant nod to "light" music.
THE key anthology of New Consonant Music. A radiant affirmation of the unity of this major musical current, through the main works of three composers each stylistically different from the others. Contains Adagio, the famous one, of course (Buckinx), Deuxième Sonate (Lachert) and Taciturne (Lawalrée).
In the grand tradition of Lachert, the first movement is a classic allegro, the second is a blending of Happy Birthday and Mendelssohn's Wedding March, the third is like a drunk revelry, and the fourth is a discovery...
THE CD of New Consonant Music. Pianist Mireille Gleizes performs Quatre Préludes (Knittel), Variaçoès "Frère Jacques" (Morozowicz), Quatrième Suite (Pelecis), Monochrone (Lysight), Três Contos de Cortazar (Mendes), Deuxième Sonate (Lachert) and Adagio, the famous one, of course (Buckinx). Recorded in the famous Studio 4 in the Brussels Flagey building, in co-production with the BRTN (Belgian Radio and Television, Flemish secion). Artistic direcor Mikhaïl Bezverkhny.
