Raf Goormans studied at the Royal Flemish Conservatory of Antwerp with Flor Peeters (organ) and Marinus de Jong (fugue). He also took courses in composition and orchestration with Hendrik Andriessen (Utrecht). His formation continued in Darmstadt and at the Mozarteum.
For a long time, he has played the organ in several churches, including the Parochial Church - University of Antwerp and the Principal Protestant Church of Antwerp.
Raf Goormans' catalogue consists mainly of religious works.
